Europe
I got a lot of inspiration from the intricate and delicate façade of the architectural structures all around Europe. I didn’t have to go inside a building or museum to be inspired. I walked around the city and admired how the floral designs intertwined with geometric patterns on the façade of the historical buildings and churches in France and Italy. I was also amazed by the eclectic and colorful designs of more modern structures, like the buildings and churches designed by Spanish Architect Antoni Gaudi in Barcelona, Spain. I was also inspired by window shopping around the European cities I have visited. In fact, the three dimensional floral pattern of my own wedding gown was conceptualized while walking down an alley in Rome, Italy. These experiences continue to inspire my unique artworks that are embroidered onto my wedding gown designs to this day.
As an artist, I would love to experience again the fun being in the Carnivale in Venice, Italy, where I can let my imagination run wild and dream that I was living in the eighteenth century and was going off to a Renaissance ball… only to wake up in the middle of San Marco’s Square with my face painted all over.
Of course, I consider Paris, France to be the most romantic place in Europe since this is where I got engaged.
